Welcome to Athedian Haven - personal site of Athedian. Here you will find stories, artwork, and MIDI music, as well as, occassional blog entries. This is the second version of the original Athedian Haven layout design that has never been opened to the public. In addition, a currently under intense development text-based Python game will also be released here within a year. It will feature novel-style storyline, RPG elements such as weapon and field statistics, and saving ability. Feel free to navigate around as new contents will be uploaded shortly.
So what is going on...
For the last three days or so I've been work on the new site layout. This is the third version layout for the site. Before I focused purely on the table tags to align all the images and the elements.
This time I have decided to use the div tags to seperate and to align my website. I figured that I might as well code the site the correct way. Needless to say that I have forgotten most of the CSS coding.
It took me a while to get used to using Style-Sheet. After multiple failures and hours of researching online I have managed to create a decent layout for both the FireFox and Internet Explorer.
I understand that the alignment in IE is still a bit quirky. I don't think I will be doing anything more about it though, since trying to make the site, especially one as small as this, to work on both versions
is just way too much work. When one browser aligns everything perfectly the other starts messing up. It is an endless cycle and quite frankly I am tired of it. I do know that the div tags really messed me up big time over
the last few days. The containers expanded perfectly in IE when there was a lot of content inside. However, in FireFox the clear: both; attribute didn't work at all. It took me a while to figure out that
the containers cannot have any height declared in absolute setting. Otherwise the parent div containers would just think of themselves as independent elements in FireFox and would completely ignore everything that
their children had done. Pretty much in FireFox div is a pain in the butt.
Hopefully I can get the rest of the pages up in the next two days.
By the way, none of the links in the navigation menu above works right now. I haven't implemented everything into the new layout yet.
