The database was wiped out

Right, so if you had noticed the errors on the site earlier today (the 9th) you'd see that the entire site was down. Well, after a lot of looking, I finally discovered that lo and behold, the ENTIRE SQL database which holds all the stored data, like posts, members, site pages, and anything that was not an HTML page. So it was all gone, just like that. The database wasn't even there anymore. I have no idea why, I don't know if we were hacked, if the server just decided to drop the database, or what.THANKFULLY, I had a backup a week old. Which is very fortunate, because prior to that, I hadn't made one in months. Well, things like this happen to all sites at some point, I guess. Who knows why.It looks like we only lost a few shouts and posts. It would've been much worse had this happened back in the old days when the forum was more active, but thanks to all of you who still drop by now and then. Oh, and manually rebuilding a 70 MB+ database is a pain in the ass. If you notice any weirdness, please tell me and I'll try to fix it.

New Book Out - Sky People

Today, I have approved for sale my new book, Sky People. This was a work of love that started a couple years back when I began editing Valice for the second or third time. It is a good deal shorter than Valice (and more affordable because of it). Here is the official summary...

It's early World War 2 in England for the land dwellers, but the people living in the sky - the feathrens - are having their own problems. Their ancient kingdom is slowly returning to the ground, and even though they have wings, they have nowhere else to fly. Amidst the humans' aircraft threatening to discover their kingdom, Princess Tasza and her attendant Fedo fall off their kingdom one day and soon find themselves in 1940 London. Luckily, Ben Holswell and his family take the winged children in, and along with a redemption-seeking feathren captain and a surly Oxford professor, seek to discover the truth of their people and a way to save them from destruction.
